Monday Made It and Giveaway reminder

It's Monday again! Although I do have to say I missed last Monday with everything going on! If you want to link up click on the picture below.

Ok so first up is my wonderful crayon art. I'm thinking of adding either the word CREATE or INSPIRE but I can't decide which:

Next up I made Krazy Straw birthday balloons inspired by Once Upon a First Grade Adventure. She even has the balloons for free! I absolutely love them and can't wait for the kiddos!


Third, I made sight word sticks. I got the download from Kathleen at Growing Kinders. I'm also working on a password sign but need to get more laminating sheets. I also have a container and am in the process of decorating it.

Last I made a ruler container from a pringles can. I saw this when Katie from Dirty Hands and Lesson Plans when she guest posted on Mrs. Stanford's Blog. That's my kittten Stig, he was checking it out :)

Exciting news times 2!

First of all I have 100 followers! Woohoo! Secondly I'm 12 kinds of excited (as Abby would say) I got a call tonight from one of the principals that I interviewed with and he offered me a Kindergarten position!! I can hardly contain my excitement, although I have my work cut out for me because new teacher orientation starts July 30th!!!!!!!! Omg! It'll be a lot of work but I'm so thankful that I have been given this opportunity! I will be back tomorrow with something!

Can anyone tell me how to get a Rafflecopter to work in Blogger? I got the code but am not sure how to get it to work on my post. THanks!

Fabulous Finds, Birchbox and Giveaway Winner

I didn't get to post because I ended up babysitting last night. Anyways I have had my eye on the EK circle cutter for awhile now, well the other day when I was in Hobby Lobby I came across one on clearance for $10. I absolutely love it! The mat I ended up getting off Amazon because the cutter can slice through a couple sheets of paper at once.  You can make small circles or larger ones:

I also received my July Birchbox! If you haven't heard of Birchbox it's wonderful, it's $10 a month and you get a box of high end beauty samples. I know other people who get them and we've never gotten all the same thing!  I've gotten a lot of things I have never heard of so it's fun to get. It is well worth the money because you get so much more in product. Plus everytime you provide feedback on something from the box you get $1 to spend in the Birchbox store! Interview tips and last day for giveaway!

Since I have two interviews for K jobs coming up I'm asking for any advice that might make me stand out against the other candidates. I have a portfolio that has resume, letters of rec, philosophy, sample lesson plan and newsletter. I would love to here what you have to say!

Help!

So I'm struggling right now. As of now it doesn't look like there will be an open position. So my two options are stay assisting or sub. With assisting I would have insurance but would be making less money. With subbing I could get a lot of teaching experience and if I could get the days I would be making a lot more money, I mean it's $150 which is pretty good.  What do y'all think? I've talked to my principal and she is willing to work with me I just hate to leave her hanging!

So I just got a call for an interview, so maybe there is hope yet :) They wanted to do it ASAP so I will be interviewing for a Kindergarten position on monday!

OMG OMG OMG Freaking Out I just checked my email and I have another interview Monday for another K position in a different district! I'm getting excited now!

Monday Made it #6

It's Monday and it's time for another Monday Made it over at 4th Grade Frolics!

This week I have made two things. First my READ letters that I have seen around the blogging world. I used digital scrapbook paper from Dreamlike Magic on Etsy an mod podge to attach the paper (love that stuff!). About the bumps and mod podge. You can get those if you don't smooth the paper and let it dry a minute. Sometimes it'll bump but when it dries it smooths itself out.

So my next project is inspired by Scentos Markers:

I mean have you seen them???? They are so cute and smell wonderful! I can not wait to use them in the classroom, I didn't want to just stick them in a drawer because they are meant to be seen. So I've been looking for the perfect holder but haven't found one. So while at Hobby Lobby I picked up some small pieces of wood, painted it, cut it and decorated and tada!:

Can't wait to set this little guy in the classroom. It just makes me smile. Even the hubs kinda liked it :)

OMG! I can't believe that I have over 50 followers, I'm working on a little giveaway, but haven't decided what I'm going to do yet, so be on the lookout!

My husband is using the game Rock Smith to learn to play the guitar, it's seems to be helping. He's sounding a little better each day.

Summer...Please stay longer, I'm not ready to be headed back. By the time the next currently comes around we will be back....

I'm still trying to figure out next year. No job offers yet, so my two options are assistant or subbing.  I'm leaning towards being a sub but my hubby is worried I won't have a steady income.

My gardens and flower beds are a mess. The weeds are taking over but it's been sooooo HOT that I can hardly get outside without sweating everything out.

Last Farley's rules which she changes each time. One read aloud that I love is Betty Bunny! The kids love it and laugh the entire time. They have a new one too: Betty Bunny wants everything! Second my teacher book: I just finished the Daily 5 and it truly made me think about the way I feel about teaching and strategies to use in the classroom.

I'm also able to go to my first bloggy meet-up! I can't wait to meet Jen over at First Grade Blue Skies who is putting this all together. If you are in the Birmingham, AL area, you should come!  

Monday Made it and fabulous finds!

Hey all! So I have a few more things for the classroom that I've been working on. I showed you my word wall letters before but now I've made words. So far I have the first 100 fry but am going to work on the second 100. Here is what it's going to look like.

Next I've made a welcome banner for the classroom:

Finally I've made a where are we poster. I'm going to use a clothespin to clip where we are :)

I love making these things, but my husband says it's time to make something for the house. So now I have to figure out what that could be. I want to make a door dec but am waiting for it to cool a little so he can cut the wood for me. :)

Now on to my finds. First I was walking through Walmart and found Owl cube baskets! How perfect, they also have shark ones if you have an ocean room.

Finally I went in to Office Depot and what did I find.....BINDERS! And they were marked down to $1 a piece, that's right $1. So I scooped up what they had left. Now I can get all my wonderful resources organized that I have found from all the lovely bloggers!

There are 12 of them there! They were normally $9 bucks each!
